Individual residence basis

Temporary residence due to other circumstances

This is not one universal permit. It covers different statutory or properly documented purposes of stay, so the precise legal basis must be selected for the individual case.

Nature

Not one universal category

Purpose

Generally a stay over 3 months

Evidence

A specific, coherent purpose

Short-term route

Exceptionally up to 6 months

Case structure

Examples of case groups

Education outside full-time higher studies

School, part-time/postgraduate education or language courses.

Each subcategory has its own tests and evidence.

EU long-term resident from another Member State

A specific route may apply after moving to Poland.

Exceptional short-term stay

For example urgent treatment or required official attendance; up to 6 months.

Who is this for?

  • Applicants outside the standard work, full-time study or family routes
  • Graduates, interns, volunteers and people in specific circumstances
  • People whose residence basis requires individual classification

How we help

  • Selecting the precise statutory basis
  • Assessing whether the purpose justifies a stay longer than three months
  • An evidence list tailored to the actual circumstance

How the process works

  1. 1

    Purpose and immigration-history review

  2. 2

    Selection of the correct subcategory

  3. 3

Evidence of purpose, resources and insurance

  4. 4

    Filing and authority correspondence

Documents and conditions

The evidence depends on the selected subcategory. Merely stating “other circumstances” without a coherent, documented purpose is not sufficient.

Some subcategories restrict applications for another residence permit while they remain valid.
